Summary
Existing law, the Private Security Services Act, requires the Director of Consumer Affairs to administer its
provisions. Existing law requires the business of a licensee under the act to be operated under the direction, control, charge, or management of the licensee, if they are qualified, or the person who is qualified to act as the qualified manager, and establishes requirements for a qualified manager, including obtaining a qualification certificate from the bureau. Existing law defines a BB device as an instrument that expels a projectile, such as a BB or a pellet, through the force of air pressure, gas pressure, or spring action, or any spot marker gun.
This bill would allow a person employed by a licensee to carry or use a BB device meeting certain specifications.
