Career
Strong was the first Republican elected chair of Madison County Commission in 2012. During his tenure, he focused on economic development, infrastructure improvements, and increasing federal agency recruitment to the area, including NASA and FBI presence at Redstone Arsenal. He received the Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor in 1989 for tornado response rescue efforts.

For U.S. House in 2022, Strong won the Republican primary runoff against Casey Wardynski with approximately 63% of the vote and won the general election against Democrat Kathy Warner-Stanton with about 67% of the vote. He was endorsed by former President Donald Trump before the November general election.
