Overview

David J. Taylor is a Republican U.S. Representative for Ohio's 2nd congressional district, serving since 2025. Born in 1969, he is a business owner and attorney who previously owned his family's concrete company, Sardinia Ready Mix. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University (1992) and a Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law (1996).

Career

Taylor was sworn in to the 119th Congress on January 3, 2025, after winning Ohio's 2nd district in the 2024 general election. He won the Republican nomination following incumbent Brad Wenstrup's announcement of retirement. Since taking office, Taylor has sponsored 20 bills focused on agriculture, rural development, water infrastructure, transportation, and other policy areas, though all remain in committee status.
