Biography
Overview
Randy Fine is a Republican U.S. House representative from Florida's 6th congressional district, serving since April 2025. He previously served in the Florida Senate (2024–25) and Florida House of Representatives (2016–24). Fine is a former casino industry executive and Harvard graduate with degrees in government and business administration. His district covers six counties including Daytona Beach.
Career
In the Florida legislature, Fine advocated for protecting the Indian River Lagoon and increased penalties for sewage violations. He sponsored the 2022 bill that dissolved the Reedy Creek Improvement District, which governs Walt Disney World Resort. In Congress, he has introduced multiple bills addressing antisemitism in education, immigration policy, and foreign affairs, including the Greenland Annexation and Statehood Act and legislation designating Sharia law as prohibited in the United States.
Prior political experience
Fine was first elected to the Florida House in 2016 with 57% of the vote, defeating Democrat David Kearns for the 53rd district. He was reelected in 2018 and 2020 with 55% of the vote against Democrat Phil Moore. Following redistricting, he won the 33rd district seat in 2022 with 57% against Democrat Anthony Yantz. Fine was elected to the Florida Senate in November 2024 with 59% of the vote against Democrat Vance Ahrens. In the April 1, 2025 special election for U.S. House, Fine defeated Democrat Josh Weil with 57% of the vote (27,400 vote margin), despite being significantly outraised financially.
