Overview
Seth Moulton is a Democratic representative for Massachusetts's 6th congressional district since 2015. A Marine Corps combat veteran, Moulton graduated from Harvard College in 2001 with a degree in physics and served four tours in Iraq before earning master's degrees in business and public administration from Harvard. His district includes Boston's northern suburbs such as Andover, Marblehead, and Peabody, and his hometown of Salem.
Career
Moulton authored legislation creating the National 988 Suicide and Mental Health Crisis Hotline and co-sponsored the Brandon Act to improve mental health access for active duty service members. He co-sponsored the WELCOMED Act to provide benefits for Afghan Special Immigrant Visa recipients, which President Biden signed into law in October 2021. He secured passage of HR 2215, the Salem Maritime National Historical Park Redesignation and Boundary Study Act. In 2018, he founded Serve America PAC, which raised over $7.5 million to elect Democratic candidates with national service experience, helping flip 15 Republican seats to Democratic in 2018. He spearheaded an effort to oust Nancy Pelosi as House Democratic leader in 2018, though the effort failed.

Moulton was first elected in 2014, winning the Democratic primary against incumbent John F. Tierney with 50.8% of the vote. He won the general election with 55.0% against Republican Richard Tisei. He ran unopposed for reelection in 2016. In 2018, he defeated Republican Joseph Schneider with 65.2% of the vote.
